WHITNEY'S BAT MITZVAH CEREMONY - EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Women and girls should wear a nice dress or skirt (shoulders must be covered.) Men and boys should wear a suit or slacks with a shirt and tie (jacket optional.) Kippahs (head coverings) will be provided for boys and men to wear if desired.
A Bat Mitzvah signifies the beginning of Jewish adulthood and a commitment to the traditions and responsibilities of Jewish law. To mark this new chapter, Whitney will have the opportunity to lead parts of our Shabbat (Saturday) service, read from the Torah (each week we read a different chapter from The 5 Books of Moses), and recite a Haftorah from the Book of Prophets. Our Saturday morning service celebrates the Sabbath as a gift from G-d. Shabbat is a day of rest, reflection, and prayer.
The service will begin promptly at 10:30 AM, so please give yourself enough time to park and get seated. Portions of the service will be in both Hebrew and English.
Please silence all cell phones before entering the synagogue. The use of any electronics is not permitted anywhere in the building.
Immediately following the service, kiddush (lunch) will be served. Parents should plan to pick up their children around 1:00 PM.
